Test your camera & microphone

3 min read Updated July 6, 2026

A 60-second device check prevents the most common telehealth hiccups. Run it before your first session on any new device.

Run the device check

  1. 1Open Settings → Telehealth → Test devices, or use Test setup inside the video room.
  2. 2Select the correct camera, microphone, and speakers.
  3. 3Confirm you can see yourself and the mic meter moves when you speak.
  4. 4Run the connection test to check your bandwidth.

If something isn't working

  • Grant your browser camera and microphone permission when prompted.
  • Close other apps that may be using the camera (Zoom, FaceTime, Teams).
  • Use Chrome, Edge, or Safari on a stable connection for best results.
  • Switch to a wired or stronger Wi-Fi connection if video looks choppy.

Tip: Wired ethernet or sitting close to the router noticeably improves call quality over a weak Wi-Fi signal.
